At Harveys, our priority is to make sure that people feel safe and secure in their home. To do this our network of offices are here to assist you – our valued customer – with your real estate needs.

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented numerous operational protocols. When our team is serving you, be assured we are meeting or exceeding the evolving government and community guidelines.

New Zealand is in the middle of a unique situation, and it is likely to be challenging for everyone involved in selling and buying property. Please be kind and consider the needs of others.

Our thoughts are with those who have been directly affected by COVID-19 and our grateful thanks go to all those essential workers who have continued to work tirelessly to ensure we eliminate this terrible illness.

CURRENT SITUATION

This page was last reviewed 3 December 2021

On Friday 3 December, New Zealand moved into the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic light settings).

Search for your local traffic light setting using the Traffic Light Map.

The Auckland Region remains under travel restrictions until 11:59pm on Tuesday 14th December.

Conducting real estate business under the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system)

Our offices are operating at all levels

Our offices may open at all levels, provided they are not undertaking activities that are otherwise restricted. At red, working from home is encouraged if appropriate.

QR code posters will be displayed in a prominent place for all visitors to use.  If you do not have the COVID tracer app, an alternative record keeping method will be available.

In red light setting, our offices can open but for those workers who can, working from home is encouraged.

My Vaccine Pass

Real estate is not legally required to use the My Vaccine Pass certification process for our business activities, but some offices and property owners may choose to.  Generally, real estate operates at the general settings of the traffic light system.  However, the rules for events apply to some activities such as in-room auctions and open homes at commercial properties or in a rural paddock.

Offices may switch between operating under My Vaccine Pass required/not required settings and we will always clearly communicate the settings we are operating under and display required signage.

In-home and onsite services (appraisals, property viewings, open homes etc.)

Capacity limits apply to allow 1m physical distancing at all open homes, private viewings and for auctions held at residential properties (gatherings) and auctions at non-residential venues (events).

Our salespeople and property managers will have properties clearly marked whether a particular viewing is being run under My Vaccine Pass or not.  Where viewings are available only to people with My Vaccine Pass, alternative appointments or virtual processes will be offered.  Speak to your salesperson/property manager to find out more.

If you are seeking an appraisal and have a preference to work with a vaccinated member of our team, please make this clear and we will ensure that happens.

General health requirements

COVID-19 is a hazard

To minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission, we follow these guidelines:

  • QR codes and contact tracing are always available
  • Face coverings are encouraged at all levels
  • Physical distancing should be observed
  • All people entering and leaving our workspaces should sanitise their hands
  • Where possible, we use contactless processes
  • No one should attend the office or a property or engage in real estate activities if they have cold/flu like symptoms, are self-isolating, are awaiting a COVID-19 test or have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.
